Sarah and I have been potty training Kate. Well, more Sarah than Derek. This morning when she woke up, she had a dry pull-up and I took her straight to the potty. I tend to come in when the training is almost complete so I can feel like I contributed, but we all know who did all the real work! In life, training, teaching, instruction and discipline are all necessary for development and growth. Neglect these and you will end up with an 18 year old daughter in Dora the Explorer Pull-ups! God trains us for this life through His Word. If you love His instruction there will be peace. If you don't you will make a mess all over yourself and others. This Sunday we discussed training for peace. Listen online @ BranchChurch.org or download the Podcast @ iTunes.
Training for Peace
Get Planted
Psalm 34:11-14 – Search and Work for peace. KJV says seek peace and pursue it.
Are you searching and working for peace? You will accomplish more in 2010 if you do!
Grow Strong
Hebrews 12:1-14 - A peaceful harvest of right living is the result of divine discipline.
dis·ci·pline - training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character.
Psalm 94:12 - God’s discipline brings joy.
Proverbs1:2-3,7 / Proverbs 3:11 / Proverbs 10:17 / Proverbs 12:1
2 Timothy 3:16-17 - Read the Bible and let it teach you to do what is right.
2 Timothy 1:7 - Two spirits are at work. Which one will you work with?
Branch Out
1 Peter 3:10-12 Message - Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing.
Whoever wants to embrace life and see the day fill up with good, Here's what you do: Say nothing evil or hurtful; Snub evil and cultivate good; run after peace for all you're worth. God looks on all this with approval, listening and responding well to what he's asked; But he turns his back on those who do evil things.
